Week 11 B

After considering my choices I have decided to go with the half serpent half human creature. I decided on this creature because I love the ocean and how ambiguous it is. Who knows, maybe a creature like this does exists and we just don know it yet. Highly unlikely, but you never know. I have done some research on mythical serpent creatures and have decided to make mine based of of the Naga. The Naga is takes many forms depending on who you ask. I am focusing on making it half human half serpent. The main website I looked to gain information on this creature is

https://www.blackdrago.com/species/naga.htm#:~:text=While%20the%20Naga%20are%20quite,Garuda%20and%20the%20snake%20charmer.

This website contained a bunch of information including various powers, enemies, and basic information on what a Naga is. I don't want to take everything from this website and include it into my illustration because I want to make it my own. So in order to do that I will remove, add and manipulate some of the information, the way he looks, acts, and lives.

Another website I gathered information from is:

https://monster.fandom.com/wiki/Naga_(Mythology)

After conducting research from these sources and various sources from movies, like Percy Jackson and Pirates of the Caribbean to gain information, I feel like I am ready to start brainstorming and begin to sketch some ideas out. I have created my characters personal profile and that can be read below

Mythical creature profile

Monster/mythical creature name: Dhradga

Description: A serpent like creature also known as a Naga. Has upper body resembling mostly a male human with aquatic features while the bottom half resembles a long snake like/serpent body.

Habitat: Dhradga lives in deep ocean near the Bermuda triangle. Not only does he live in the deep ocean, but he made his permanent home in the deep caves and caverns that surround the Bermuda triangle.

Traits: Dhradgas powers consist of: Camouflage, enhanced bite, enhanced stealth, enhanced smell, poison generation, speed swimming and can morph into a full human a couple times a year. Mostly friendly towards humans unless they provoke Dhradga. Carnivorous eater, mostly sea creatures, but sometimes like to venture on land for some red meat.  Dhradga is rarely spotted ever, but if he has been spotted it has been reported that it’s either when he is defending his life and people, or when he is hunting for food mainly at night.

Enemies: His enemies consist of the Garuda bird and the snake charmers. These are highly dangerous to his species and often attack out of surprise. The Garuda bird are giant birds that like to eat Dhradga and his species. The snake charmers are even more dangerous because they use a combination of magic and spells to drug him which makes him vulnerable.

Friends: Dhradga does not have many allies but does get along with the mermaid tribes. Has a mutual relationship with humans, will only get hostile if provoked?

Hobbies: Dhradga likes to spend most of his time hunting sea creatures for food. He makes sure to stay below the surface to avoid revealing himself. He also likes to prepare for any attacks from his enemies by training.

 Short story describing Dhradga

Dhradga is a half serpent half man creature that lives in the extravagant caves that surrounds the Bermuda triangle. Mainly a peaceful but powerful species and will attack if provoked by humans or any other species. He spends his days hunting for food mainly fish but will occasionally venture on land resembling a human to hunt for red meat and bigger animals. Along with hunting, he also spends his days preparing from the inevitable attack from either the Garuda bird or the snake charmers. These are deadly enemies to Dhradga, so he must always be ready. He trains by practicing his many powers on various sea creatures to gain more skill and confidence.  If caught off guard, Dhradga and his species could easily vanish from existence. Many years have passed since the last battle, but it is only inevitable that his enemies will attack again. Their feud has been going on for thousands of years and there looks to be no end in sight.
